Accessorizing Your Children’s Bathrooms For Manageability
If you’re lucky enough to live in a home where your children can have their very own bathroom, you’ll find out quite quickly that there’s a need for just the right accessories to make this bathroom easy for them to use. Think of all the things such as toys, bubble bath, shampoo, lotions and whatever else your children need on a daily basis in their bathroom. Then think of ways to take care of them.
For example, having just the right storage is quite important. There should be plenty of space under the sink or over the toilet to put such things as towels and wash cloths. Keep clean linens within reach while bathing toddlers.
As for storing such things as tub toys, there are a few ways to do this. One such ideal item is a small tub with a mesh surface that allows bath toys to be both stored and then drained in the tub. This also makes cleaning these toys easier, too. They should be cleaned frequently with a bleach solution.
Shampoos, bubble bath, soap and other things such as these also need a place to be safely and conveniently stored. A shower caddy is an ideal solution to this dilemma. It doesn’t matter if you choose to hang it over a shower head or put on a towel rack as long as it’s convenient to you and not your child.
Don’t forget safety items, either. These include such things as toilet locks, cabinet locks, and step stools. The locks will keep your children from going where it’s dangerous for them to go. Step stools make it easier for older children to reach the sink to wash their hands and brush their teeth.
A cordless phone is good to have for parents to take into the bathroom with them while bathing a child. In that case, if the phone rings, it can be answered without leaving the bathroom and will also be on hand in case of an emergency.
Specific bathroom accessories designed just for children’s bathroom can help with organization and safety both. Do your homework and make sure you get the right ones. When properly used, they can make bath time fun for all.
